Proposed Budget Cuts to Career and Technical Education
After reading the information provided by Daryle Nobles, President of the Administration Division of NCACTEA, pertaining to the Governor's proposed budget cuts to CTE, please describe the effect you believe this may have on students, teachers, education, community, business and industry, etc.

This is a terrible move. I'm all for cutting government spending but not here! We need to take the majority focus off of college prep and place it on career prep! This is the last place they should cut! I have already contacted my state reps to take a stand against this.
ReplyDeleteI agree 100% with Mike. This is the last place the state needs to cut funds. CTE is an outlet for all students, and should not be a victim of our recovering economy. Career Prep for primary and secondary students is essential for their success in their secondary and post-secondary educational career. Does our government really believe that this is going to improve student acheivement? Do they think students are going to only take their core classes exclusively? Purdue has threatened to cut CTE year after year, and has been unsuccessful. Let us ensure that history repeats itself in this case.
