What minimum level of education do you believe will be necessary to prepare students for the workforce in your career field within your region/state? Why?
The level of education we require varies by the position. For most of our Hourly positions a High School diploma or equivalent is fine. For our skilled trades positions the persons must be able demonstrate proficiency. To move up very far in the management ranks a 4-year degree is becoming a necessity.
In the field of Engineering, the minimum education requirement is a 4 year Bachelors of Science degree. This can be accomplished by attending a 2 year community college and then transferring to a university to complete the 4 year degree. Other positions such as a designer or test lab technician would only require a 2 year Associate's degree.
